Primary Human Ascending Colon Epithelial Cells
Covered by peritoneum on the front and both sides, ascending colon is fixed in the posterior abdominal wall and the lateral abdominal wall. Small intestine, greater omentum and the anterior abdominal wall are in front of it and connected to the posterior abdominal wall by loose connectivity tissue in the rear. From top to bottom, there are right kidney and lumbar dorsal fascia; the descending part of duodenum and right ureter are located inside, making the ascending column difficult to separate surgically. The function of the ascending colon is to promote the digestion and absorption of food, as a consequence, its disease and health, directly affects the digestion and absorption of nutrients.
Epithelial cells are a diverse group of tightly packed cells that line the lumens of major organs such as the skin, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, and genitourinary system, forming a physical barrier that separates them from each other and the external environment. Intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) are polarized columnar epithelial cells that are involved in digestion, absorption, secretion, immune barrier, and stress response of the intestinal tract. The mucosal epithelium contains a large number of immune cells and immune molecules, and it is the largest immune tissue in the organism.
Intestinal epithelial cells are the fastest renewing class of cells in the body and play an important role in maintaining the function of the intestinal epithelium. Its rapid renewal makes it an ideal in vitro model for studying the regulatory mechanisms of cell proliferation, differentiation, and the effects of nutrients on intestinal epithelium, cell signaling, and intestinal immunity.
▞ Product Information:
IPHASE produces primary human ascending colon epithelial cells (NhIECAC-P5) by isolating them from adult ascending colon with a total cell volume of 8×105/vial. The cells consist of a homogeneous population of enterocytes and are identified based on viability, morphology, plating efficiency assay, CK8 and CK18 staining. The cells are free of HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, CMV, EBV HBV, HCV, HIV-1, HIV-2, etc. Each batch of product is tested on functional maintainability for at least 5-7 days, and this data is reported in the quality control report of cell delivery.
▞ Product Applications:
Can be used in in-vitro research assays on homeostatic maintenance, epithelial growth and repair, immune response, inflammation, tumorigenesis and cancer.
